Adding a pop of color in an otherwise neutral room provides an easy transformation that is stylish and surprising. For example, we just completed a home for a client and painted the front door teal. What's great about painting is that if you get tired of the hue you can always paint it another color.
Proving the validity of 2017’s love of color was Pantone, who named Greenery the 2017 Color of the Year, moving away from 2016’s muted Rose Quarts and Serenity Colors of the Year. Like Sublime Homes, you can experiment with bold pops of color by replacing tired upholstery and accent pillows with fresh colors that liven up a room. Before taking the plunge and totally repainting a room, experiment with bold colors by painting an accent wall, door, or even the ceiling!

In January of 1801, William Henry Harrison arrived in Vincennes, the capital of the newly- established Indiana Territory to begin his duties as the Indiana territorial governor. In 1841 he was elected president. Fun Fact: He died of complications from pneumonia 31 days into his term, serving the shortest tenure in United States presidential history
In 1804, Harrison built a Georgian/plantation-style home near Vincennes that he named Grouseland. A Georgian/plantation-style home is modeled after those built across the American South prior to the Civil War. These grand homes are characterized by their proportion and balance. Square symmetrical shapes, paired chimney and the use of brick or stone as the exterior façade. Additionally, there are often stacked porches with Greek Columns. Harrison’s home has thirteen rooms and was one of the first brick structures in the territory. During his term, as territorial governor, Harrison’s home served as the center of social and political life in the territory. It also served as a fortress during times of unrest in the territory.
